Leadership Principle Worksheet
This worksheet was designed to share how I align my experience with Amazon’s Leadership Principles. I’ve written down a couple of detailed examples from my experience that relate to each of Amazon’s Leadership Principles. Enjoy! Sandra Burns
Learn and Be Curious: Leaders are never done learning and always seek to improve themselves. They are curious about new possibilities and act to explore them.
Example 1:
Situation: In order to teach other trainers courses when in a bind, I had to get certified in those courses.
Task: Get certified in Adobe Training’s I was not an expert yet in.
Action: I studied and learned the other Adobe products in order to train in them and get my certifications.
Result: I became certified in Adobe FrameMaker besides Illustrator, PhotoShop, InDesign and Adobe Acrobat, etc.
Example 2:
Situation: I had to retool when noticing the downturn in ILT bookings. How could I increase business when people are dealing with a housing crisis. It seemed like corporate training was a luxury item at most companies laying people off not hiring or training them.
Task: Figure out a more cost effective way to train employees. Teach myself how to create online training.
Action: I taught myself what I could but I also felt I should go back to school to learn more about Instructional Design.
Result: I earned my Masters in Education Technology with a concentration in Instructional Design.
